Wedding Sax by the Sea at Robin Hoods Bay
The old chapel at Secret Seaview, Robin Hoods Bay is apparently the closest civil Wedding venue to the sea in England, but not when I was there; the tide was a long way out.
The Wedding Day
I was playing for Jo & Stephen on their Wedding day at this wonderful little venue nestling on the cliff overlooking the sea.

I began to play for them as they emerged from the chapel and throughout the photographs.
After a while, a chilly North sea breeze nudged the guests inside as the newly-weds ventured down the beach for more photos.
We all spent the rest of the afternoon all warm and cosy in the café where I continued playing in between patting the resident spaniels and trying not to nudge any of the expensive art exhibits around the walls and sills.

The Secret Seaview
The Secret Seaview is a relatively new Wedding venue, although the former chapel has been there for hundreds of years. I suppose you could call it a ‘boutique’ venue, then again pretty much everything in Robin Hood’s Bay is ‘boutique’.
The friendly owner, Richard, was on hand to give me the history of the place. I was fascinated to learn that, when the chapel was originally built, it was a long way from the sea with many streets and houses where there is now only the beach. http://www.secretseaview.co.uk
And Robin Hoods Bay has to be one of the most enchanting villages in the country. I’ve visited here for days out many times, but this was my first time playing sax for a Wedding here.

Note to myself for future coastal Weddings: learn a few sea shanties!
